2 pm    REFLECTION: A WALK WITH WATER

This “pilgrimage” with water traces the story of the California water crisis and our shared climate change reality.  The film maker and other water pilgrims travel the 200-mile length of the Los Angeles Aqueduct.  The journey inspires conversation about our local water situation.

3:30     IN MY BACKYARD

An interest in backyard vegetable gardening burgeons into various creative solutions to challenges of urban gardening.  Individuals are changing their communities through local food production.  New paradigms are being discussed and possibilities are being implemented by people just like you and me.

5:00     12th HOUR

12th Hour delves into humanity’s psychological resistance to ecological change.  Changes in humanity’s thinking are needed to avoid an irreversible cataclysm.  Much of our population currently lives with hopeful delusions about climate change.  With Pagosa thought-leaders gathered today, let’s talk.

5:55     SOIL CARE IS CLIMATE REPAIR

This Colorado kid-produced film short lifts our spirits and reminds us how do-able climate solutions really are – if we can agree on next steps.

6:00     SUPPER!

Pagosa’s favorite chef and GGP founder, Kathy Keyes of Pagosa Baking Company, treats us to a stand-up supper of locally grown food.  A cash bar is available from 2 pm to close.  Bring your own refillable water bottles.

6:45     LYNX: SHADOWS OF THE FOREST

This Colorado Parks and Wildlife production examines lynx in Colorado since their reintroduction in 1999.  The big-footed felines illustrate a success story of Colorado’s support for biodiversity and value of wildlife.

7:00     NATURE’S BIG YEAR

It’s March 2020 and the world hits pause.  Nature reboots.  Wildlife scientists reveal unexpected and astounding discoveries from the year of the pandemic.  This ambitious and provocative film explores the lockdown’s silver lining – many species benefit immediately when humanity slows down.

The Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) is an annual event held every February in Golden, Colorado.  The Pagosa Springs Film Festival Caravan provides rural Coloradans an opportunity to sample the CEFF’s award-winning documentaries. In its eighth year, the Pagosa Springs Caravan will be hosted at the Tennyson Event Center as a benefit for the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership.
